TOSHIBA TEC's CF3 600 npi ink-recirculating printhead

18/10/2017

The 600 npi CF3 inkjet printhead from TOSHIBA TEC is designed for a wide range of industrial applications, including labels and packaging, corrugated, coding, signs and graphics, roll-to-roll printing of business forms. CF3 is designed for single-pass or scan-based printing in various orientations on flat or curved surfaces.
In addition to single-colour 600 npi printing, CF3’s dual ink inlets allow 2 different colours to be printed simultaneously at 300 npi per colour. This feature introduces new, compact printing options for press manufacturers. In both dual and single ink modes, CF3 uses small-volume, multi-droplet greyscale levels to achieve full, single-pass coverage at high speeds, while maintaining accurate dot placement and excellent print quality with ultra-fine details.

InkDock™ from IACS is a highly compact and versatile ink supply system for industrial inkjet print heads that have reflow or fluid recirculation architecture. Recent inkjet heads use recirculation to eliminate the build-up of air bubbles and pigment sediment around nozzle openings, vastly improving their reliability and minimising production down-time. Reliable jetting is particularly important in single-pass printing.
InkDock™ intelligently maintains user-defined meniscus pressure, flow rate and fluid temperature, with absolute precision. Settings are easily adjusted via its web-enabled interface (LAN or secured WAN). InkDock™ can drive a reflow print head in various orientations, including horizontal, vertical and skyscraper modes. The print head can be integrated next to, or at a distance from InkDock™.

TOSHIBA TEC CORPORATION and IACS were proud to showcase the new 600 npi CF3 industrial inkjet printhead which doubles the print resolution of exhisting models.

The CF3 inkjet printhead incorporates through-channel fluid recirculation with side shooter architecture. Ink is pumped constantly across all nozzle openings to eliminate air bubbles and particle sedimentation, even when nozzles aren’t firing. This constant fluid recirculation increases printhead reliability and facilitates the use of higher viscosity inks, carrying larger and heavier pigment particles. Fluid recirculation supply systems maintain precise ink temperatures and viscosities, ensuring consistent print density across single and multiple heads.
